Jesus Blessed Me With A Position That I Wanted

Written by Davina Leong on Tue, 4 Mar 2025

Hey friends,

In December 2023, I left my role in GIC due to stress and politics.

After feeling better from my mental health, I started my job search in June last year, but gave up in July when I was unsuccessful and took up a course in Cybersecurity.

I started again in September, even trying for McDonald’s, admin jobs and even thought of applying for a PVDL license to drive for Grab. I even sought career counselling and help from the government.

Then in January this year, I went to a career fair where I sent out hard copies of my resumes to various booths. In early February, I sat for an interview for a software developer position at Aspri Group. Having had some bad experiences in the past, I decided to record the interview secretly on my phone in fear that what was said and written maybe used my disadvantage. At the end of the interview, the interviewer called in the CEO to have a chat with me too, and she asked me to disclose my mental health condition against my dad’s advice and the new anti-discrimination laws that the government has announced. They told me that they would give me their decision the week after.

Within the same week, I received a call from a representative from Fort Financial, a sub-contractor of HSBC for a sales role on the Friday of the same week. Getting impatient with Jesus, but still wanting to wait on the Lord, I told the person that I will give my answer on the following Monday. Meanwhile, I asked advice from my parents and CG friends if I should take on the role. They advised me against taking up this position.

Monday came, and there was no news from Aspri Group. So I decided to go forward with the sales role as I couldn’t wait any longer.

However, for some reason I couldn’t set a date to fix an interview for this sales role. I even applied for a digital ambassador role too and was about to go for an interview this week.

At the same time, I was attending an online ministry, Soundwise Ministry, led by Pastor Gilbert Kong. During a physical gathering in October, he prophesied over those who were looking for a job and looked specifically at my direction and said that I’ll get my job in March this year, the Year of the Third Day. At the same place and ministry, a young lady around my age named Joey also prayed for me to get a job.

BUT! Daddy God is faithful, and is always on time, because I received an email from IFASOFT, last week offering me the role of a part-time software engineer. Exercising wisdom, in-case it was a phishing email, I asked the sender if they are related to Aspri Group. The sender replied that their company is the sister company of Aspri Group.

Thank You, Jesus for Your faithfulness, and sending people my way to encourage me when I need it. Thank You, for being my Lord, Saviour and Bestest Best Friend, amen! Version for Social Media Hey friends,

In December 2023, I left my role in a government-linked company due to stress and politics.

After feeling better from my mental health, I started my job search in June last year, but gave up in July when I was unsuccessful and took up a course in Cybersecurity.

I started again in September, even trying for fast food jobs, admin roles, and even thought of applying for a license to drive for ride-hailing. I also sought career counseling and help from the government.

Then in January this year, I went to a career fair where I sent out hard copies of my resumes to various booths. In early February, I sat for an interview for a software developer position at a company in the engineering sector. Having had some bad experiences in the past, I decided to record the interview secretly on my phone in fear that what was said and written might be used to my disadvantage. At the end of the interview, the interviewer called in the CEO to have a chat with me too, and she asked me to disclose my mental health condition against my dad’s advice and the new anti-discrimination laws that the government has announced. They told me that they would give me their decision the week after.

Within the same week, I received a call from a representative of a financial services company, a sub-contractor of a major international bank, for a sales role on the Friday of the same week. Getting impatient with Jesus, but still wanting to wait on the Lord, I told the person that I would give my answer on the following Monday. Meanwhile, I asked advice from my parents and church group friends if I should take on the role. They advised me against it.

Monday came, and there was no news from the engineering company. So I decided to go forward with the sales role as I couldn’t wait any longer.

However, for some reason, I couldn’t set a date to fix an interview for this sales role. I even applied for a digital ambassador role and was about to go for an interview this week.

At the same time, I was attending an online ministry, led by a pastor. During a physical gathering in October, he prophesied over those who were looking for a job and looked specifically in my direction, saying that I would get my job in March this year, the Year of the Third Day. At the same place and ministry, a young lady around my age also prayed for me to get a job.

BUT! Daddy God is faithful and is always on time because I received an email from a software company last week offering me the role of a part-time software engineer. Exercising wisdom, in case it was a phishing email, I asked the sender if they were related to the engineering company. The sender replied that their company is a sister company of the engineering firm I interviewed with.

Thank You, Jesus, for Your faithfulness and for sending people my way to encourage me when I needed it. Thank You for being my Lord, Saviour, and Bestest Best Friend, amen!
